How to read the dial

Stored as total clicks from zero. Convert R.N.C as R*30 + N*3 + C, e.g. 1.2.0 = 36 clicks. Timemore's own chart uses 'circles' (turns): 0.8 circles = 24 clicks.

Zero: burrs touching (dial tightened until it stops)

Good to know

  • 23.3 um per click and 30 clicks per turn come from Timemore's spec as repeated by retailers (Eight Ounce, Slow Pour). Timemore's own page only says 'finer adjustment pitch'.
  • Honest Coffee Guide's chart implies about 11 um of particle-size change per click (0-1009 um over 90 clicks), well under the burr-gap figure. Use the method settings first.
  • Honest Coffee Guide also lists espresso 17-33, V60 36-62, pour-over 37-82, moka 33-58, French press 62-90 clicks. The Timemore chart is used above for those methods.
  • Range max of 90 clicks (3 turns) is the end of Honest Coffee Guide's chart, not a published limit.
  • Capacity and weight conflict: Eight Ounce lists 20 g and about 473 g; Slow Pour lists max 25 g and about 530 g.
  • zero_offset_um is an estimate.
