How to read the dial
Dial indicator number, decimals allowed because the dial is stepless, e.g. 4.5 = halfway between marks 4 and 5. 1 is finest, 35 coarsest.
Zero: factory-calibrated; indicator 1 is finest (Mahlkönig calls it 'guided stepless adjustment')

Good to know
- Stepless: settings are dial indicator numbers and any value in between is valid.
- Mahlkönig says the burrs grind from under 200 µm at the finest to about 1000 µm at the coarsest. Honest Coffee Guide charts it at 243-905 µm. zero_offset_um uses HCG's 243; treat as an estimate.
- Mahlkönig does not publish burr travel per indicator. burr_travel_um_per_step is null.
- Honest Coffee Guide's table did not render when fetched; values came from search-result extracts of that page. They are consistent with a straight-line map of HCG method ranges onto 243-905 µm. Re-check against the live page.
- Honest Coffee Guide's ranges are wide estimates. The generic pour-over row runs to the top of the dial, which is coarser than most pour-over recipes want.
- A reviewer (Homegrounds) found the most uniform output between roughly 300 and 600 µm and weaker consistency at the coarse end, so French press results may be less even.
- Hopper: 500 g standard; some North American units ship with a 250 g short hopper (iDrinkCoffee). Dimensions and weight are for the 500 g hopper version (Coffee Parts AU listing).
- Motor wattage not confirmed for the 120 V version. Burr speed 1050 rpm per iDrinkCoffee and Coffee Machine Depot.
- Swappable fronts: a portafilter fork for espresso and a bin front for filter.
