How to read the dial
Printed as macro + letter, e.g. 5M. Stored here as micro-steps from 1A: (macro - 1) x 12 + letter index (A=0, B=1 ... W=22). 5M = 4 x 12 + 12 = 60.
Zero: factory-calibrated so the burrs touch at 1M (micro-step 12)
12 micro clicks equal 1 macro click, so the two scales overlap (e.g. 2A and 1M are the same gap).

Good to know
- microns_per_step estimated as (1150 - 230) / 130 from Honest Coffee Guide's 230-1150 µm range spread over the micro-step index. Not a measured burr-gap figure.
- zero_offset_um is Honest Coffee Guide's finest particle size (230 µm). Treat as an estimate.
- Converting Honest Coffee Guide's letter settings assumes they use the same overlapping 12-micro-per-macro scale as Baratza. Not confirmed.
- Baratza: calibration point can be set anywhere from 1A to 3Q. Recalibrating shifts every setting.
- Make finer adjustments only with the motor running or the grinder empty.
- Weight is not listed on Baratza's US product page.
