How to read the dial

N.C. 1 rotation = 9 numbers = 90 clicks; 1 number = 10 clicks. Total clicks = N x 10 + C. Example: 3.2 = number 3 + 2 clicks = 32 clicks; 8.6 = 86 clicks. Past one turn 1Zpresso keeps counting, so 10.0 = one full round plus 1 number = 100 clicks.

Zero: burrs touching (red dot points at 0 when the handle can no longer spin freely)

Tested on a ZP6 Special with a V60, 5.0-6.0 (Where's the Coffee? dial-in, 2026-10). Honest Coffee Guide's chart gives 1.8-5.1, which ran too fine; Honest Coffee Guide, ZP6 Special chart (Pour Over row), 1.9-7.6; Honest Coffee Guide, ZP6 Special chart, 0.9-8.0; Honest Coffee Guide, ZP6 Special chart, 1.4-4.6; Honest Coffee Guide, ZP6 Special chart, 5.0-9.0; Honest Coffee Guide, ZP6 Special chart, 6.3-9.0

Good to know

  • Pour-over grinder. Not for espresso or Turkish. Honest Coffee Guide lists an espresso row (0.0-1.5) but also says espresso isn't possible, so it is left out here.
  • Honest Coffee Guide warns numbers 0 to about 2 are unusable because of burr rub after zeroing, so range.min is set to 20 clicks. Its Aeropress and moka pot rows start below that; clamp to 20.
  • 1Zpresso's champion recipes use 4.1 (41 clicks) and 5.6 (56 clicks) for Origami pour-overs, which sit inside the pour-over range above.
  • 1Zpresso publishes a ZP6 Special chart only as an image, so it could not be checked here. Other sites (Barista Life, Bean & Coffee) give different numbers; treat these as a starting point.
  • range.max of 90 is one full rotation and the top of the chart. The dial can turn further.
  • Don't confuse with the original ZP6, which uses a different scale.
  • V60 range set to 5.0-6.0 (50-60 clicks) from hands-on testing on 2026-10-20, replacing the Honest Coffee Guide row (1.8-5.1).
